Back to Church Sunday in the Diocese of Perth
The Perth Diocesan Council has endorsed 13 September 2009 as "Back to Church Sunday" across the Diocese.
"Back to Church Sunday" is a simple and effective tool for mission. By inviting those who have not attended church for some time, or those who have never been to church on one Sunday of the year, many people have come back to church as regular attendees.

The timetable, counting backwards, is as follows:
- 13 September - "Back to Church Sunday" - local media;
- August - people invite one person to attend church with them. The person they invite is given a card with the time and date of the church service and an assurance that they are being prayed for during that period of time. The church member who invites someone to church undertakes to pray for that person for the next month, and take them to the service;
- August to September - opportunities in local and wider media will be sought to highlight "Back to Church Sunday" and its intention;
- June-July - parishes begin to attend to matters of welcome and consider how they will provide hospitality for the day, as well as talk about this mission initiative in worshipping communities;
- 20 June - churches need to register, registration should be made to Jenny Liggins at Diocesan Office (9325 7455). The cost of "Back to Church Sunday" packs per 100 people is $60. Packs include 1 x A2 poster, 2 x A3 posters, 6 x A4 posters, 100 invitation/prayers cards, 100 gift postcards.
Back to Church Sunday Hospitality Workshop - Saturday 15 August 2009
As part of the preparation for Back to Church Sunday, Bishop Kay Goldsworthy and The Venerable Trevor Burt are running a workshop on hospitality. Come and brush up on your welcoming skills, learn some new tips and help equip your parish to be a hospitable experience for those who attend Back to Church Sunday.
