If the person is under 18, an alternative is to contact Crisis Care on 9223 1111 (Perth) or 1800 199 008 (for callers outside Perth)
OR call the Kids Help Line (24hr) on 1800 55 1800
OR visit NAPCAN for more information.
Complaints Procedures
Complaints can be made at any time to the Professional Standards Unit.
Once a complaint is received, the following process is put in place:
- Firstly facts will need to be verified to ensure that it is a bona fide complaint.
- A Contact Person is allocated to the person making the complaint and/or the victim of abuse.
- An Investigator may then appointed to look more closely at the details and to recommend a course of action
- The independent Professional Standards Committee will review the recommendations.
- Counselling is offered to all parties.
- Cases directly involving children will be managed in conjunction with the WA Police.
- Cases involving adults will generally go to mediation.
Please note that anonymous complaints may only be briefly examined and noted.
A more detailed explanation of the protocol for managing complaints can be found HERE.
