Free Advent Reflection Booklet

patriarch_bartholomew_i_of_constantinople_at_the_vatican_on_june_8_2014_credit_alan_holdren_cna_cna_6_9_14Following the huge demand for last year’s Toward Christmas: An Advent Reflection, Anglican Overseas Aid has produced a new Advent booklet for this year.

Ideal as a personal reflection, small group study guide, or whole of church resource, this booklet is once again free to any person or church that requests them.

“We are again following the traditional themes of Advent: hope, love, joy and peace,” says Revd Dr Bob Mitchell, Anglican Overseas Aid’s CEO. “This year we have invited reflective input and images from our overseas partners as we seek to share what this special time means in different places.”

bookletAnother innovative step that Anglican Overseas Aid has taken is to translate the booklet from last year into Mandarin Chinese. Board Member, Revd Yvonne Poon, Assistant Priest of St Matthias Church in North Richmond, Victoria, states “It’s great that Anglican Overseas Aid has taken this step to engage the many Chinese congregations that contribute to the Anglican Church of Australia. To provide a resource for these congregations to deepen their connection to the traditions of the Church is a really positive step”.
