Living in Hope - Studies in 1 Peter

Day Retreat - May 2024, Swan Valley Adventure Centre
Retreat Leader: The Right Reverend David Bassett

Each morning of our retreat will begin with an interactive bible study from a section of 1 Peter. It is my prayer that as we focus on the living hope that we have been given we will find refreshment of mind and heart and be renewed in our service in tending the flock of God.

At our daily eucharist we will focus on humbling ourselves under God’s hand that he may lift us up. Following lunch there will be personal time for reflection before we conclude the day with a time of discussion and prayer focused on our ministry.

Dates:Monday 20 May-Friday 24 May 2024
Venue:Swan Valley Adventure Centre
58 Yule Avenue, Middle Swan
Retreat Style:Directed Retreat - silence in certain parts. Day retreat only.

The Four Marks

June 2024, New Norcia
Retreat Leader: The Venerable Clive Hillman

In response to the theological controversies of the post-persecution era and the liberty of the Church under Constantine, the fourth century Church met in ecumenical councils to agree the formularies of our faith. Amongst these was the setting out of the foundational ecclesiology that we still recite Sunday by Sunday in the Nicene Creed,“We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.”

Modern clergy live in a similar time of controversies, many of which can hide from us the deep truths of who we are in Christ as Church and how the Church is to be in the world. Using the resources offered to us in scripture, tradition, and reason, this (mostly) Silent Retreat is intended to encourage us to step past the presenting controversies and schisms of our daily lives and look more deeply at the truth of what it means to be ministers and members of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Dates:Monday 20 May - Friday 24 May 2024
Venue:New Norcia Guesthouse
Retreat Style:Directed Retreat - mainly silent retreat
Cost:$580 (includes subsidy, accommodation and all meals)
Participants to make their own way to New Norcia
Maximum participants:
