The diocesan office of the Anglican Diocese of Perth’s core business is to provide administration support and high-level leadership to the Anglican Church, Diocese of Perth.

As Diocesan Archivist, you shall be responsible for coordination of archiving operations of the entire organisation. You shall have to accept, store, make accessible and protect diocesan and parish collections using best practice archives management. You shall also be required to assess and implement sentencing and destruction of records. Archives management for the diocese will involve liaising with professional bodies and archiving institutions. It would also require budget management and supervision of a small team of paid staff, volunteers and students.

To be successful in this role, you shall:

  • have a professional qualification in records management and archives
  • be eligible to become a member of the Australian Society of Archivists
  • have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role
  • demonstrate a good understanding of current records and archives management
  • have high level communications and research skills
  • demonstrate time management and project management skills
  • have supervisory skills
  • be friendly and approachable with a strong customer service focus
  • be supportive of the Anglican Church and its values.

In addition to this, our Archivist must hold a current Working with Children Check and a valid National Police Certificate (not older than 3 months)
