Funerals
We have sensed the mystery of death, and the pain of grief, since time immemorial. A funeral service is a rite by which we acknowledge the wounds of grief, acknowledging loss, giving thanks, making a last farewell and becoming captives to hope.
An Anglican Church funeral provides a safe and caring place to give thanks to all that was special and unique about your loved one. The funeral can be held in a place that you choose, and include special details in the music that is played, the prayers that are spoken, and the readings that are chosen. Talk with your local parish priest to arrange the funeral service.
Our message is one of hope in life after death. Your local church is there for you, for as long as you need, whether you seek a quiet place to be, a place to pray, a place to talk or a place to go. Our churches are open all day, every day.
If you require immediate bereavement support telephone Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Samaritans on 135 247.
