About us
The diocesan office of the Anglican Diocese of Perth’s core business is to provide support and high-level leadership to the Anglican Church, Diocese of Perth. The finance team delivers services to the Diocese and its 100+ parishes and provides financial governance for the Diocese’s diverse range of funds and investments, including property and equity assets. We are situated in a new office building next to St George’s Cathedral, with excellent amenities and parking.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an applicant who has excellent financial reporting skills and has highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. The preferred candidate will have “big four” audit firm background and at least 4 years’ experience in a management role.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer you will have overall responsibility for the finance services team, strengthen the management and control of the Diocese’s finances and work with a wide range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Financial performance and management reporting
- Statutory financial reporting and audit
- Treasury including cash flow and borrowing management
- Compliance with taxation obligations, principally GST, payroll taxes and FBT
- Providing leadership of the shared financial services team
What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other relevant degree
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or Certified Practising Accountant
- Big four audit firm background
- At least 4 years in a financial management role or similar role
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
- Outstanding computer skills, preferably experience working with Tech 1
- National Police Certificate
