Priest-in-Charge, Parish of Como-Manning
Ministry Opportunity – Parish of Como/Swancare Bentley
This is an exciting opportunity for a combined ministry in a long serving parish and an established chaplaincy. The Parish of Como seeks a half-time parish priest to serve its faithful long-term congregation and develop ministry in an area that is multi-ethnic as well as strongly Anglican, with a high number of family households. The recently refurbished parish hall is a centre for community activity as well as parish outreach. The parish church has good accessibility and offers a spacious setting for liturgy and other ministry.
Applicants for this position of parish priest must also have proven experience in chaplaincy/pastoral care and are required to dedicate two days a week to the parish’s missional outreach to the staff and residents of Swancare Bentley Park (retirement village) and SwanCare Waminda (residential aged-care facility). As chaplain to both facilities, the parish priest works closely with SwanCare management and is responsible for leading weekly services, providing end of life ministry, conducting memorial services and grief training, and is present when invited to key meetings and events.
