Dementia Awareness
Dementia Awareness
An accessible introduction to dementia designed for those in ordained ministry. This session explores what dementia is, the different types, causes, and stages, and the ways it can affect individuals and their families. Participants will consider the value of person centred approaches, develop confidence in communicating well, and learn how to recognise changed behaviours and supportive strategies. The workshop also touches on good practice in reporting and documentation.
Throughout, the focus remains on the pastoral, spiritual, and practical implications for clergy as they accompany people living with dementia and those who care for them.
