8 November 2020
Our church has a responsibility to provide ongoing pastoral and spiritual care to serving military personnel. The greatest support that the church can provide to its chaplains engaged in this mission is prayer and understanding.
“Defence Sunday” is observed annually on the Sunday prior to Remembrance Day (11 November). In 2020, Bishop Grant Dibden, the Anglican Bishop to the Defence Force has advised that Sunday 8 November has been designated as "Defence Sunday" and is the Sunday prior to Remembrance Day.
This day is an opportunity to highlight the work of the Anglican Church among Defence personnel and their families and to pray for this ministry.
Liturgical resources and prayer points will be available on the Defence Anglicans website. For more information please contact the office of the Bishop to the Defence Force email@example.com. You may wish to display the Defence Sunday poster.
