Dear Readers

This month’s edition Messenger invites readers to look into the Diocesan Synod meeting from 8-10 October. As you read you might pray for Synod:

Almighty and everliving God,
give wisdom and understanding,
to the members of the Synod of this Diocese.
Teach them in all things
to seek first your honour and glory.
May they perceive what is right
have courage to pursue it
and grace to accomplish it,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

This month the news from Amana Living and St Bart’s is of saying farewell and looking ahead.

The Revd Mark Grobicki, member of the Anglican Children and Youth Ministries Commission, invites readers to ask, ‘Who Am I?’ in the light of Jesus’ love. A central question many young people are asking right now.

17 October is the international day for the eradication of poverty and presents not only facts but also issues a challenge to Messenger readers to consider the abundance of life, and the opportunities to give so that all God’s people will have enough.

The days are longer, the weather more temperate.

Happy reading.
