As AngliSchools (formerly known as the Anglican Schools Commission) embraces the new year with a refreshed identity, you may have noticed the striking new ‘A’ at the heart of our logo. This letter is much more than a design choice; it is an icon rich in meaning, composed of three key symbols that together embody who we are.
![]() | Our ‘iconic A’ represents the foundational values and aspirations that unite all AngliSchools. It is a visual reminder that first and foremost we are Anglican, and that our Anglican identity underpins everything we do. Let me take a moment to share some of the deeper significance behind this simple yet carefully crafted symbol. |
![]() | Anchored in Faith The letter A reminds us that we are part of the Anglican Church of Australia. The Anglican faith shapes our identity through a commitment to AngliSchools’ core values of faith, excellence, justice, respect, integrity and inclusion. |
![]() | A Journey Forward The Dove reminds us that God can be known to us by the Holy Spirit. It embodies the qualities of love, peace, fellowship and service. |
![]() | Lifelong Learning The Book reminds us that we are a community of lifelong learners. It symbolises our commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive and caring Christian education. The shape represents the learning, pursuit of wisdom, new discovery, insight and inspiration that Christians find in the Bible, our sacred text. The open pages denote accessibility; namely, our belief that knowledge and a good education should be available to all. |
Together, these three elements - the ‘A’ (Anglican), the Dove (God and growth), and the Open Book (Bible and learning) - form a cohesive symbol that captures the essence of AngliSchools.
As we celebrate our 40th anniversary throughout 2025, this iconic ‘A’ reflects our legacy, mission, and future vision: to be Australia’s leading provider of quality, accessible and inclusive Anglican education.
