Academic Requirements for Ordination Candidates as agreed by the Archbishop on advice from Wollaston Theological College (WTC)
Where a person is invited to be a candidate-in-training, and is able to commence University study immediately, s/he will need to meet the following academic requirements while completing her/his training:
All students commencing Tertiary Study to undertake an Introductory Course on Reading, Writing, Research for Academic Purposes (e.g. UND’s AL100 Academic Writing, Research and Communication or Murdoch University’s BAR 100 ‘Academic Learning Skills’).
be an ‘Introduction’ level course; and 1 Pauline letter);
Students should consult with the Warden AND the course advisor at the University at which they are enrolled in selecting other courses.
Where a person is invited to be a candidate-in-training, and does not have necessary English language skills, acquiring these will be a pre-requisite for commencing the above. ESL classes shall be taught for or by WTC.
As an introduction to theological study, and to provide practical assistance in the use of English for academic purposes, such candidates may undertake some modules leading towards the Archbishop’s Certificate in Theology.
