About Us
The Anglican Diocese of Perth promotes a workplace that actively seeks to include, welcome and value the unique contribution of all people. We are situated in a new office building next to St George’s Cathedral, with easy access to public transport and excellent amenities. The immediate team consists of 35 team members spread across three floors in the building, who cooperate with over 400 other team members and thousands of volunteers from across the Diocese.
The Opportunity
After seven successful years, the current incumbent is set to retire, and the Diocese is looking to appoint a new team member to strengthen our leadership team and ensure the Diocese meets the highest standards of risk, work health and safety, and governance.
Reporting to the Diocesan Secretary and Executive Officer, you will play an integral role in leading and maintaining our risk and work health and safety management systems. Additionally, you will bring your experience and contemporary knowledge in good organisational governance.
You will provide high-level advice and reporting to several committees and execute key strategic projects across risk management and compliance.
About You
You are a collaborative leader with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. With strong analytical skills, you have the ability to see both the details and the bigger picture.
You are driven by a strong commitment to ethical practice and have confidence in working with boards and the leadership team.
Your appreciation of the complexities and nuances of a largely volunteer-based organisation will be an advantage.
Ideally, you will be familiar with using risk reporting software, be a strategic thinker and be able to respectfully challenge the status quo and drive a best practice culture.
