Parish of Applecross

The Parish of Applecross is situated in a leafy suburb on the southern bank of the Swan River, located close to major arterial roads between the cities of Perth and Fremantle.

For several decades, Applecross Parish has embraced people with a wide variety of churchmanship, and its clergy have come from different backgrounds. The unifying link through this period has been a liberal and open theology.

We believe our parish is looking for someone that has:

• A demonstrated interest in missiology and the shape of the church in contemporary society
• A demonstrated ability to lead (mixed clergy and lay) ministry teams using collaborative techniques
• A track record of community focused ministry that is inclusive and has concern for social justice
• An ability to think strategically and reflectively
• A liturgical practice that is spiritual rather than religious and has a contemplative element, with a contemporary aesthetic
• Strong preaching and communication skills that enables engagement with an educated congregation and the wider Applecross community; and
• Energy for developing something new, but the wisdom to discern what will be lasting
