Anglican Chaplain
Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (Full-time)
An opportunity is available for a full-time Anglican Chaplain to join the chaplaincy team at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Osborne Park Health Care Group.
Working Monday to Friday, the successful applicant will also participate in a shared after-hours on-call roster, approximately one week in every 5–6 weeks, providing urgent end-of-life pastoral ministry.
The chaplain will serve as part of an ecumenical team, offering Anglican worship and sacramental ministry alongside compassionate pastoral and spiritual care for patients, families and staff of all faiths and none. The role is guided by the values of North Metropolitan Health Service, with the Chaplain reporting directly to the Head of Department Chaplaincy and Spiritual Services.
Applicants must:
- be an Anglican priest eligible to be licensed by the Anglican Diocese of Perth;
- have satisfactorily completed at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent;
- demonstrate experience and competence in healthcare chaplaincy or pastoral care;
- possess excellent communication skills, uphold high standards of professional practice and ethical boundaries, and demonstrate a strong commitment to self-care.
Appointment is subject to a Working With Children Check, National Police Clearance, pre-employment integrity screening and health assessment, and must possess a current valid Western Australian Drivers Licence.
