Parish of Kalamunda-Lesmurdie
The parish of Kalamunda-Lesmurdie is blessed by having two very distinct churches and communities, that allow the congregation to experience the “close to” country living experience. St. Barnabas’ Church is located within the CBD of Kalamunda, whilst the heritage listed St. Swithun’s Church in Lesmurdie offers a more rural aspect.
The parish has two rectories, both offering 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom, living with each located adjacent to their respective church. Both centres have hall facilities which are widely used by the wider community for their various professional and speciality group needs. The parish runs “Swithun’s Nest”, being a centre of spirituality and peaceful meditation within the St Swithun’s Hall and this facility can be used by anyone seeking a quiet, contemplative location away from the bustle of central Perth without the long commute.
The parish is very fortunate to have a very well run and profitable Op Shop, led by a dedicated team of volunteers, who not only serve the local community, but make donations throughout the needy of Western Australia by supporting regional charities and communities.
The congregations are well established with a strong desire to change and grow, and to invite a more active participation of the next generation.
