Partnered parishes

All Saints Dianella Anglican Church

All Saints, Dianella with All Saints, Sergoit partnered in mid 2017.
With use of WhatsApp, a team of three parishioners and Rev’d Wendy have developed a personal relationship with Rev’d Lydia and her family.

Rev'd Lydia is married with a 7 year old daughter and twin 5 year old boys and leads eight congregations in the parish of All Saints Sergoit. From the age of 10 until completion of secondary school, Rev'd Lydia stayed with her Grandmother.  Rev'd Lydia credits this time spent with Grandmother, now 98 years of age, to the beginning of her journey.  We share our day to day stories and support each other with love.

One of our team, Ossy, manages a radio programme and recently both parishes placed their song requests for specific programmes dedicated to this purpose. A recording of the programmes will be made available to parishioners of All Saints in Sergoit and Dianella.

Since 2016 Perth MU Diocese agreed to starting this chain in the links of our Partner in Mission.
We share information and news of Mother’s Union with each other. MU in Perth has 25 active branches with a membership of 400.  While MU in Eldoret has 45 parishes, with a membership of 2,250.
We also share our life’s events with each other - my marriage to Fr Ted Doncaster, and her ordination to the Diaconate by Bp Christopher with her husband, Ibrahim, to be collated as Lay Canon in the Bondo Cathedral on 11 Feb. While the news of a baby girl, Blessed, for Miriam & Christopher, was another time for shared joy.

The MU groups are very pro-active in community life, visiting the sick, women in prison, caring for orphans, having parenting programmes, and in all this they are well supported from Mary Sumner House in the UK.

St. Paul’s Woodlands Wembley Downs Parish

Commencing in early 2017, we are partnered with the Venerable Jairus Kemei, of Iten and surrounding district. We exchange greetings, photographs, and prayer requests.

There are limitations in terms of language which hinders a deeper exchange and friendship. We are aware this is a very hard working, struggling, poor Church community in Kenya and therefore do not want to be demanding of their time and attention.
