Interests and expertise
Drawing upon 40 years of extensive experience across diverse professional settings such as, General Nursing and Midwifery, Adult, Children & Young People Counselling, Industrial and School Chaplaincy, as well as Parish Ministry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to professional supervision. My commitment to fostering professional growth and development is underlined by undertaking professional training in the provision of supervision.
I firmly believe that supervision in the context of ministry is an essential and beneficial practice because it gives the message that ministry as a practice is taken seriously. From my own personal experience I know that supervision if done well offers invaluable opportunities to engage in transformational learning, reflective practice and holistic self-care. It is, I believe, through this process that we are empowered to fulfill our calling to the best of our abilities in service to others.
Central to my approach to supervision is the recognition that the quality of our relationship and the establishment of a safe space are paramount to achieving positive outcomes. I strive to cultivate an atmosphere of trust by providing a confidential, nurturing, and collaborative environment. My supervision style is characterized by warmth, flexibility, and respect, allowing ample room for exploration of both successful strategies and areas for growth and improvement.
