Interests and expertise
Michael Wood was ordained in the Anglican Diocese of Perth in 1996, after careers in the shipping and banking industries. He has worked in parish ministry (10 years); and University Chaplaincy (15 years) concurrently with private practice as a leadership coach and professional facilitator.
Michael takes a coaching approach to professional supervision, which means working across ‘inner-work’ and ‘outer-work’ of ministry, with a particular focus on reflective practice and the pastoral care of self and others. Michael is also a trained Restorative Justice conference facilitator which explores the repair of relationships following harm or conflict. He is particularly interested in the relationship between nonviolent theology, contemplative prayer, and practices of peace in everyday life, family, work and community. His first book, “Practicing Peace” was published in 2022.
Michael has trained clergy and lay leaders throughout Australia in circle-facilitation. Michael has degrees in Business (HR) and Theology and a Diploma of Professional Coaching. He is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. Because Michael currently works in Melbourne, all supervision is conducted via TEAMS or Zoom.
Fees
The standard fee (2022) for supervision is $235 per session for persons covered by the Diocese of Perth Supervision policy.
