Interests and expertise
Michael Wood was ordained in the Anglican Diocese of Perth in 1996, after careers in the shipping and banking industries. He has worked in parish ministry (10 years); University Chaplaincy (17years) and Community Chaplaincy in an inner city Melbourne parish (3 years), concurrently with private practice as a leadership coach and professional facilitator.
Michael has been providing professional supervision to clergy and other church leaders in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, Perth and South Queensland for 10 years. His approach to professional supervision is informed by Ontological Coaching combined with additional reading and participation in Professional Supervision workshops. He has been in regular supervision himself for 30 yearsMichael is a trained Restorative Practices conference facilitator which explores the repair of relationships following harm or conflict. This enables him to also listen through the lense of how church relational dynamics work. Michael’s first book, “Practicing Peace: Theology, Contemplation, and Actionn” was published in 2022.
Because Michael currently works in Melbourne, all supervision is conducted via TEAMS or Zoom.
Fees
The standard fee (2022) for supervision is $235 per session for persons covered by the Diocese of Perth Supervision policy.
Rates for individuals not covered by this policy can be discussed.
