Interests and expertise
Born in the Congo, of Belgian origin, I grew up in various African countries. Eventually I continued my studies in Belgium before joining the Foreign Service and I was posted in the Philippines and Zimbabwe.
My initial involvement in counselling came through study at a Christian counselling service in Harare and these studies were progressed further when we arrived in Australia. I then joined a private practice (2015-2022), specializing in multicultural issues and couples counselling. I work from a person-centred perspective, evidence informed, multidisciplinary and integrative approach.
I also assisted with the training of supervisors (2017-2019); and since 2021 I have been providing supervision to students, counsellors and youth chaplains.
As an accredited supervisor, I focus on professional practice and development through empowering the supervisees to reflect, develop their skills, style and professional identity.
I regularly receive my own supervision which I get from a Christian supervisor.
